Slagr is the old Norse expression for the word ’tune’, ’melody’. The word is derived from the verb slá (hit) with the connotation hit to create tones (pluck), and has originally been used about tunes played on plucked instruments.
Slagr is contemporary nordic folk music for hardanger fiddle, cello and vibraphone/tuned glasses. Slagr is Anne Hytta, Katrine Schiøtt (earlier Sigrun Eng) and Amund Sjølie Sveen. Since 2003, Slagr has released 4 studio albums. Please visit www.slagr.no
